Success as HR team rolls out My HR in spite of Covid-19 challenges

This week we are celebrating, and thanking, all the members of our HR team who successfully launched the new My HR system on time, despite the many obstacles put in their way by coronavirus.

Charity Works trainee Kara Taylor was brought in to project-manage the implementation of the new Transform HR system and, with the support of colleagues in Human Resources, was able to launch the new system last week. With April having been the planned go-live month, the bulk of the work was always expected to be completed in March including final tweaks being made and training and user-testing being carried out. When the coronavirus outbreak hit, however, Kara had to quickly organise for the pre-arranged training and user-testing sessions to be completed remotely.

Transform’s Head of People Simone Bartley said she was proud of how the team had pulled together to deliver the major project. “The implementation of a new system is always a difficult task, but this time the team also had the added pressure of the coronavirus outbreak and the issues that came with that to contend with,” she explained. “It was a fabulous team effort and they managed to go live by the deadline which is an incredible achievement with everything else that was going on.” Simone wanted to gave Kara a special mention. “She really rose to the challenge and managed to adapt quickly to our changing circumstances,”
she said.

Head of IT and new member of staff Andrew Cordukes said he’d been impressed by how easy My HR was to use. “I was able to login very quickly, add my emergency contacts and check all my information was correct,” he said.

Kara Taylor said the process had been slightly challenging at times but that it had been a great project to work on. “There is more work to do as we are planning to add additional screens, information and capabilities to it in the coming months – so watch this space,” she added.
