My life has transformed through Transform...
My life before Transform… I was living on the streets and in one word it was hell. I was drinking and taking drugs. I’d been using for quite a long time and I couldn’t stop.
I was in a supported hostel, which was a dry house. It wasn’t until I got into AA and moved here that my life has changed, completely turned around. This is the longest I’ve been in recovery, just over nine months. That’s clean from heroin, crack cocaine, alcohol.

I feel alive for the first time. I’m safe, I have a stable life now, I have routine. And I’ve got a lovely clean bed that I can put my head on at night. I’m grateful for the most littlelest of things, like having a job – I work in the community.
I’ve learnt it’s just one day at a time. At the moment I’m building a relationship with my eldest daughter who’s 26 and my granddaughter, who I haven’t seen for the first five years of her life. I’m now having contact with them and we’re building a relationship slowly, slowly. I hope for the future that I’ll be having them round for a Sunday roast.
The most important thing in my recovery is trust with Transform. And vice versa it works both ways, I trust them and having that trust back for them to trust me, that’s a big thing. They saved my life; if I was still out there drinking I’d be dead, I know that. I think I was on the verge of dying.

They’ve given me a chance, it’s amazing. I owe my life to them. My life has transformed through Transform.
