Charity carol service welcomes the Bishop of Guildford as special guest

A charity carol service will welcome the Rt Revd Andrew Watson, Bishop of Guildford, as its special guest. Taking place at St Mary’s Church, Fetcham on Thursday 8 December the candlelit carol service will be followed by a festive drinks reception at Fetcham Park.

The service will support local charity Transform Housing & Support, which provides housing, support and home care to over 2,000 people each year, helping homeless and vulnerable people to reach their goals and live independent and fulfilling lives.

The service has been organised in partnership with St Mary’s Church, Leatherhead & District Chamber of Commerce and Fetcham Park. There will be a free drinks reception at the historic Fetcham Park, with refreshments generously provided by Fetcham Park and the Chamber.

The evening will feature a welcome message from the Rt Revd Andrew Watson (Bishop of Guildford) followed by a traditional carol service, led by Revd Andrew Smith, Rector of Fetcham. The service will also include a reading from Mole Valley Chairman, Councillor David Mir as well as music from
St Mary’s choir, and carols for everyone to sing.

Transform Head of Fundraising and Communications, Carol Borwick said:

“We are very grateful to St Mary’s Church, Fetcham Park, Revd Andrew Smith and the Leatherhead & District Chamber of Commerce for making this event possible.

“This event is set to be the perfect start to the Christmas season, with carols and music, followed by a wonderful drinks reception at the beautiful Fetcham Park. We hope you will be able to join us on Thursday 8 December and help us to transform lives this Christmas.”

The carol service is a chance to celebrate and to give thanks, while also supporting Transform’s work with those who are homeless or vulnerable in the community. Starting at 6.30pm, the event is free to attend and no booking is required. There will be a collection in support of Transform’s work across Surrey.

St Mary’s Church is located at 10a The Ridgeway, Fetcham, Leatherhead KT22 9AZ. Parking is available at adjacent Fetcham Park, Lower Road, Fetcham, Leatherhead KT22 9HD (Satnav postcode: KT22 9ES).
