Death of former Transform Patron

We are very sorry to hear the sad news of the death of our former Patron and supporter Sir Richard Thornton KCVO OBE JP DL.

Sir Richard served as Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey from 1986-1997. He was a Patron of Transform for many years and had remained a loyal supporter of Transform ever since.

Paul Mitchell, Chief Executive of Transform, said:

“We are very sorry to hear the sad news of the death of Sir Richard Thornton. On behalf of everyone at Transform I would like to express my condolences to his family and friends on their loss. Sir Richard was extremely supportive of Transform’s work with homeless and vulnerable people, both during his time as a Patron and in the years since. He was a lovely, humble man and will be greatly missed.”
