'Guess the weight' at West Byfleet fete

Surrey Community Development Trust organised an unusual competition for the St John's West Byfleet summer fete on 11 June… 'guess the weight of the fruit and veg basket'!

This healthy alternative to the usual 'guess the weight of the cake' competition was designed to highlight our new allotment project in Woking. The allotment is a great opportunity for our clients to grow fruit and veg, learn about healthy eating and get more active.

We had a stall at the fete to promote our work. Visitors to our stall were invited to guess how much the fruit and veg basket weighed. We also sold tasty homemade cakes, as a less healthy option.

In Woking, SCDT provides housing for more than 70 clients, including two large properties for young people.

St John's West Byfleet are kindly donating part of the proceeds from the fete to support our work in the Woking area.
