SCDT makes a big splash with fundraising swim

Staff, clients and trustees from Surrey Community Development Trust (SCDT) made a big splash on Saturday 16 October, raising over £900 in a charity 'swimathon'.

The two teams from SCDT each swam for 55 minutes and clocked up an impressive 184 lengths of the pool between them.

The first team was led by Judi Thompson and Frankie Medley, who work as Supported Housing Workers for SCDT in Guildford. They were joined by Michele, Sue, Sarah and Sandra, who live in two of the charity's houses for people with learning disabilities.

The second team was made up of SCDT trustees Debbie Drury and Bernard Stevens, plus staff members Claire Hickman, Sara Young, Karen Forshaw and Alex McKee.

The funds raised will help support SCDT’s work with vulnerable people across Surrey, Sutton and Wokingham.

The Swimathon event took place at Pool in the Park in Woking and was organised by The Rotary Club of Woking. The money raised by the event will be shared between several local charities, including SCDT.
