Transform is Sainsbury’s Brookwood Charity Partner

9 July 2012

Transform Housing & Support in Woking has been chosen by Sainsbury’s Brookwood as their Local Charity Partner for 2012/2013.

The partnership officially launched on Monday 2 July and customers can now make a donation in-store to support the work of Transform in Woking. The partnership comes after the store asked customers which local charity they should support for the year.

In Woking, Transform houses and supports vulnerable young people, helping them to build up their confidence, gain essential life skills and achieve independence.

Over the next 12 months, the charity will benefit from Sainsbury’s Local Charity partner scheme, now in its fourth year. Sainsbury’s colleagues will be providing fundraising support and raising awareness of the charity with the local community.

Sainsbury’s Brookwood Store Manager Peter Smith said:

“Transform Housing & Support is such a worthy local cause and we’re pleased and proud to be supporting it over the next 12 months. We’ll be letting our customers know of our fundraising plans in-store and we hope they can join our colleagues in helping support them.”

Theresa Duckett, Transform Project Manager in Woking, said:

“I’d like to thank everyone at Sainsbury’s Brookwood who nominated us to be the store’s new Local Charity partner. I hope this partnership will raise awareness to Woking residents about the work we do with vulnerable young people and the impact we have in the community.  We now look forward to a successful year working with the store’s colleagues on this exciting initiative.”
