Transform supporters receive Birthday Honours

18 June 2012

Two long-term supporters of Transform Housing & Support have been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.

Transform Patron Richard Stilgoe was made a knight in the Queen's Birthday Honours list while former Chair of Transform David Hypher received an OBE. The honours were announced on Saturday 16 June on the Queen’s Official Birthday.

David Hypher OBE DL joined the Board of Transform in 2000 and was Chair or Vice Chair of the charity for eight and half years. Since retiring from the Board in September 2011, David has continued to be a very active supporter of Transform. David has been instrumental to the success of our 40th birthday celebrations during 2012.

Sir Richard Stilgoe OBE DL has been a very loyal supporter of Transform since becoming a Patron in 2002 and has participated in many events on behalf of Transform. He will compère the fundraising event ‘Transform on the Fourth of July’ at Loseley Park early next month, in celebration of our 40th birthday.

Paul Mitchell, Chief Executive of Transform Housing & Support, said:

“We are delighted that not one but two of our most loyal supporters have been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list. We are most grateful to Sir Richard Stilgoe for his generous support as a Patron over the past 10 years and his dedication to the work of Transform.

“David Hypher richly deserves this honour and has been inspirational in his contribution to Transform Housing & Support. He has always given his all to our mission of providing housing and support to homeless, vulnerable and excluded people. The charity is much stronger and better known as a result of David’s endeavours. We are very grateful to David and also to his wife Pam who supports him in all he does.”
