Work and Pensions minister visits Transform

25 November 2011

The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, Chris Grayling MP, visited a Transform project on Friday 25 November.

Mr Grayling, who is MP for Epsom and Ewell, visited Stewart Court in Epsom to find out more about the work of Transform. Stewart Court provides dry and drug free accommodation with support for eight people in recovery from drug and alcohol dependency.

The MP met three clients, Kevin, Pat and Tom, who all live at the property. They explained how important it has been for them to have suitable housing and support as part of the recovery process. They also talked about some of the issues faced by people who are in recovery when they start looking for work.

The Minister met several members of the Transform team, including Chair Elizabeth Kennedy, Supported Housing Manager Lorna Lathey, Area Manager Viccy Johnson and Chief Executive Paul Mitchell.
