Mark Austen joined Transform as a Trustee in November 2015 and became Chairman in 2017.
Having qualified as an accountant he gained most of his experience of the financial industry through managing Price Waterhouse’s (latterly PricewaterhouseCoopers’) financial services consulting business around the world. He advised a large number of institutions especially on strategy and acquisitions, operations and back office, human resources, regulation and technology and has written and presented extensively on such topics. He was elected as a member of PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Global Board and had a major role in effecting the sale of the consulting business to IBM which he subsequently joined, leaving in March 2005. He has since pursued a plural career as a director or chairman on a number of boards in banking, technology, software, consulting engineering and insurance. He also served as Chairman for a period of one of Prince Charles’ Charities, Arts and Business.
